New Club Record
Nick scored 787 in a game tonite, a new club record. Nick played five bingos, including CRANKILY (triple-triple for 203), PETROSAL (triple-triple for 140), FAINTER, AGENDUM, and STERILE.

Reached 1400 !
Rhonda has achieved a club rating of over 1400 for the first time. Rhonda has been playing exceptionally well as of late, as demonstarted by winning Division B in our recent tourney, and has moved up the 3rd in the overall season rankings.

Sunday Sessions (Recreational Group) Cancelled
Due to lack of interest, the Sunday afternoon sessions have been cancelled. We still hope to get recreational players on Tuesday evenings, but recommend that anyone wishing to play in the recreational group contact the director in advance to ensure that at least one other recreational player plans to attend.

New Meeting Time - Recreational Group
The community centre has graciously made a room available to us on Sunday afternoons for the Recreational group sessions. We have therefore decided to hold separate sessions for each group: the Recreational group will now meet on Sunday afternoons, while the Competitive group will continue to meet on Tuesday evenings.

NOTE: The first recreational group session of 2011 will be held on Sunday January 9th, while the first competitive group session of the new year will be held on Tuesday January 11th.

Christmas Holiday Schedule / Annual Pot-Luck
We will be holding our end-of-season pot-luck get together at the club on Tuesday December 14, 2010. Sharon and JoAnne are coordinating. Please contact them to let them know of your intended contribution to the pot-luck.

NOTE that there will be NO club scrabble on the following dates: December 21, December 28, and January 4. We will start our new club season on January 11th.

Club Ratings and Session Results
The statistics page has been updated to include club ratings for all players. The initial ratings were taken from the NASPA ratings file as of December 31,2009. The standard North American ratings formula used by NASPA and WGPO is used for the ratings calculation. Ratings are updated session by session. The session results report has also been revised to show rankings within pairing group for each session.

New Ladder System for Competitive Division
Tonight's club session marks the introduction of a new ladder-based pairing system for the competitive division. The ladder has been modelled on the system used at the Calgary club.

Recreational Division Added
Several people who have dropped by the club have expressed the desire for a more casual game. As a result, we have introduced a Recreational Division to accomodate players who prefer a more relaxed form of the game.
